Seeding equipment with a mass transfer device to improve the penetration capacity of the discs while keeping the equipment light.
It's not always easy to get machinery into the ground under all circumstances. A well-known example is overseeding grassland or sowing green manure in stubble. This problem is often solved by adding extra weight (ballasting), which forces the machine to penetrate the soil.
Evers has come up with a simple and ingenious solution to this problem with its Dartmoor seed drill. A hydraulically-operated mechanism transfers the weight of the tractor to the machine via a hook located under the tractor hitch drawbars. This gives the machine extra capacity without having to make it very heavy. The system stands out for its simplicity and efficiency.
