Pick-up aerator to lift forage upstream of the rotors of central delivery twin-rotor rakes
By design, a "traditional" twin-rotor swather with central delivery always leaves a central strip of forage that will not be picked up by the rotor tines. In many cases, this forage will never have been moved if no tedder is used. Kuhn has developed the GA 8131 CL rake fitted with a patented pick-up aerator. This camless pick-up reproduces the tine kinematics of a pick-up with a cam. Placed upstream of the rotors, it lifts and aerates the forage not worked by the rotors. The central swath formed is aerated and more uniform. Adjustments such as the speed of rotation of the pick-up or the position of the deflector enable it to be adapted to different types of forage, including fragile forage such as alfalfa. The quality of the forage is thus preserved.
