New Holland is offering the T7.270 tractor with an engine developing 199 kW (270 bhp) and fuelled by liquid (bio)methane (LNG / LBM). The biomethane produced by the farm reduces greenhouse gas emissions. This biomethane is stored at -163°C in an innovative 'Bennamann' tank, which is better suited to the agricultural sector, where vehicles are subject to periods of inactivity. The tank consists of two metal walls between which a vacuum is created. The inner part is suspended by a Kevlar system. New Holland is tackling the problem of evaporation gas (boil-off) with a 'cryocooler' that keeps the methane permanently below -163°C and therefore in a liquid state at low pressure.
