SPFH Forage Cam | New Holland

When chopping corn, the kernels must be crushed sufficiently to make the starch easily digestible. Because this crushing process requires a lot of energy, the machine must be optimally adjusted to achieve good feed quality with optimal machine performance. Currently, however, this quality control is still carried out by sampling and laboratory analyses, the results of which are only available after the harvest. NEW HOLLAND's ForageCam™ analyzes the grain processing score during harvesting based on images of the chopped corn flow. If the measured grain processing score deviates from the value set by the operator, the machine settings are automatically adjusted to achieve the desired value. This sensor therefore enables the chopper and the driver to intervene during harvesting by optimizing the machine settings to achieve the desired feed quality in an efficient manner.
